In the last match, Virat Kohli was needed just 17 runs to be the first Indian and overall 3rd player to score 2000 runs in T20I. well, Virat was not playing in the last match due to some injury and very likely to be rested for tri-series in Sri - Lanka along with MS Dhoni Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Rohit Sharma Was playing the captain role in the last match where Indian won the thrilling match with 7 runs.
Team India will play 5 T20I matches in Sri - Lanka including the final. Rohit Sharma didn't cross 30 run mark in three matches with the poor series in South Africa Rohit Sharma will be hoping for a good Tri-series as a batsman.

Tri-Series:virat kohli might be rested for sri-lanka tri-series, rohit sharma to lead

Team India will play 50 overs world cup in England next year Indian team will be hoping for the injury-free team the three-member national selection committee - led by MSK Prasad - is looking to give rest to some members of the team touring South Africa during the forthcoming Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka from March 6 to 18. The T20 tri-series, which will involve India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.


                                                         


According to sources:

pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah could be rested for the tri-series and young pacers like Mohammed Siraj, Basil Thampi, Jaydev Unadkat or Shardul Thakur could get a look in. Skipper Virat Kohli could also be offered a break from the rigors of T20I cricket if he himself wants a rest and either Rohit Sharma ould be named stand-in captain. The name of Axar Patel is doing the rounds for the role of a specialist spinner.all these cricketers would get busy for the IPL with their respective franchises and won’t get time to rest enough. The tour of England will start just a few days after IPL.
