What happened in india's first T20I match

The first Twenty20 International match was held on 5 August 2004 between the England and New Zealand women's teams with New Zealand winning by nine runs.

On 17 February 2005 Australia defeated New Zealand in the first men's full international Twenty20 match, played at Eden Park in Auckland. 

India's first T20I match played against South Africa in South Africa. Virendra Sehwag was the captain. he was the first captain of India who won the T20 match for India.

In the last match, Virat Kohli was needed just 17 runs to be the first Indian and overall 3rd player to score 2000 runs in T20I. well, Virat was not playing in the last match due to some injury and very likely to be rested for tri-series in Sri - Lanka along with MS Dhoni Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Rohit Sharma Was playing the captain role in the last match where Indian won the thrilling match with 7 runs.
Team India will play 5 T20I matches in Sri - Lanka including the final. Rohit Sharma didn't cross 30 run mark in three matches with the poor series in South Africa Rohit Sharma will be hoping for a good Tri-series as a batsman.
